Signature Healthcare Communications Handed Solaraze Brief
Almirall UK has appointed Signature Healthcare Communications as its UK medical education and PR agency. The agency has been appointed following a competitive pitch and will work initially on the Solaraze brand, as well as the wider dermatology portfolio later this year.
The agency will kick off implementing a co-ordinated medical education and disease awareness programme for Solaraze. The campaign, which is being implemented on a nationwide and targeted regional basis, will aim to raise awareness of actinic keratosis; skin lesions caused by sun damage which can be a precursor to skin cancer.
East Anglia has been chosen as the first launch region based on its demographics and percentage of outdoor workers. In addition, the Norfolk and Norwich Hospital recently became the first in the East of England, and one of only a dozen in the UK, to offer a more accurate and less invasive skin cancer biopsy test called Sentinel Lymph Node Biopsyhas. The campaign launches next month with a series of “Is This Skin Cancer?” educational meetings for primary healthcare professionals and will build up to Skin Awareness Week, during which a specially modified Skin Check Unit will tour Norfolk and Suffolk offering free skin checks from a team of Consultant Dermatologist. Skin Awareness Week will be promoted by both above the line and below the line activities.
Launched last Summer, Signature is currently retained by clients including Galderma, Napp Pharmaceuticals, the Primary Care Dermatology Society and national skin cancer charity, Skcin.
